1940′s Post-War House to Japanese Traditional
Built in 1945 in the Minimal Traditional style of Pre and Post WWII homes, this small two story home had a great view of Lake Washington which was the reason to remodel rather than move. The owners wanted to improve the street appearance and redesign street access to allow for handicap accessibility. Access from the main floor to the Japanese Garden in the back yard was through new terraced decks. Extended eaves and exterior detailing converts this post war house to a traditional Japanese house.
