A solid knowledge of “green” building practices is mandatory for an architectural practice today. We provide the tools you need to make good decisions for indoor environment design and efficient building operation. We help you evaluate the costs and benefits of each of your choices for both front-end and life-cycle issues.
The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is the predominant tool for evaluating decisions in the design and construction process. We use the LEED check list to assist us on projects for public agencies even when achieving a LEED rating is not required.
We have applied green building practices to several of our recent projects, including the Fort Worden State Park Conference Facility, the Delridge Community Center for Seattle Parks and the Washington State Archives on the WWU Campus. These projects required green standards for construction materials recycling, low VOC materials and adhesives, use of renewable, recycled and recyclable materials, energy efficient day lighting and artificial lighting. In addition, the siting designs for these projects were based on solar orientation, storm water infiltration, waste water separation and energy efficient HVAC systems.
